Are you able to ship paper or samples at a different or cheaper shipping method than the one shown on your instant shipping calculator?

You have beautiful paper and I have heard nothing but good things about your products.
I just do not understand how it can cost 3 dollars to ship a single piece of paper.

    Hi Anna,

Thank you for your compliment about our paper.

We know that it can be difficult for customers to understand how paper can cost more to ship than the cost of the paper. The shipping selections you see in our shipping calculator are based on the weight of the items and your shipping address, but there is a further consideration, the package size. If the items are too large (or too bulky) to fit in one of a couple standard envelope sizes, we package them in sturdy cardboard, which in turn adds weight and bulk, eliminating the option for First Class Mail.

Please contact us by phone or e-mail if you’d like us to address a specific shipping question. We can certainly tell you more with more information.

Like Anna, I think the paper is beautiful but found the cost of shipping to be quite high. I paid $2.69 to ship 2 samples to my home but when it arrived, the package clearly indicated that it only cost $1.39 to ship using USPS first class. I was very disappointed since other sites I ordered from have a low flat rate shipping fee for an unlmited number of samples, and packaged the samples in the same careful way LCI did.

I’m considering a full order of one of my samples (only because I can’t find this paper else where) but again am discouraged by the cost of shipping – which is a lot higher then other sites. As the quote stands now, I’d be spending half of what I’m going to pay for the paper on shipping costs. I’m not sure I can justify that cost – no matter how beautiful the paper is.

UPDATE: Because of the high shipping cost I ended up looking elsewhere and found the exact beautiful paper I wanted at a retail store! And the best part was that the paper was cheaper AND there was no shipping cost!! What’s the advatange of shopping online if I can get a better deal at a retail store? I think I will continue to shop at the retail specialty paper store – they have just as much of a selection, if not more, then LCI. I recommend people shop around their town to compare paper prices before buying from LCI.
