PC100 Card Stock is 100% post consumer recycled paper and made in the USA using eco-friendly alternative energy sources. The highest quality recycled fibers are used to make this paper and it features a low dirt count for a super clean, ultra bright white sheet. Offered in 100lb cover (270 g/m2) the smooth, matte, uncoated finish allows for superior printability. This paper is 100% acid free, lignin free and archival to last a lifetime. Question: I have antique maps that I want to back with an archival acid free backing. Is this product acid free and appropriate for this use?
Answer: Astrolite PC100 is a premium, heavy weight card stock that would work well as a backing. PC100 is not a 100% Cotton Rag but instead is made from wood based pulp. Therefore it is acid free, lignin free and considered Conservation Grade Archival. It will last for over 1,000 years!
