What makes up the invitation ensemble?
The components of the wedding ensemble consist of the following items:
- Wedding Invitation – A written request describing the formal welcome to the affair; bride and groom, date, time, location of ceremony, parents of bride and groom (optional), etc.
- Invitation Envelopes – Traditionally will consist of both an inner and outer envelope (see how to address envelopes below). On occasion, some choose to have an inner lined envelope for presentation.
- Reception Card (Optional) – When the reception differs in location, date and/or time from the formal ceremony, this card may accompany the ensemble.
- Response Set – Consists of a reply card and a preaddressed envelope, often pre-stamped with proper postage. Reply Cards, at times, may include a choice of meals if it is an option.
- Direction Cards (Optional) – Outline of directions to location(s) of ceremony and/or reception.
- Tissue (Optional) – A formal manner of presentation for a wedding ensemble; separates the invitation from the other enclosures.
