How thick does a paper have to be to be considered too thick for my printer? How do I know?
Acceptable paper thickness will vary from printer to printer. As a general guideline, most home inkjet printers support up to 80lb Cover stock. Laser printers can typically handle higher weight stocks, especially if a manual feed tray is used to ensure a straight path through the printer. However, it is important to consult the printer manual and specifications as well as the paper provider for guidelines in suitable paper thickness. It is highly recommended to test out paper samples before committing to purchasing a large quantity of invitations or card stocks.
