In this video we talk about Gmund Colors, and how it is more then just a colorful paper collection. You'll learn about Gmund's eco-conscious mill, their ingeniously numbered cohesive color palette, and why Gmund Colors is a paper chosen by the pros. Stick around and see this smooth, saturated, matte finish paper in action!
Imported from Germany
World-renowned and eco-conscious Gmund Paper mill was established in 1829 in the German village of Gmund located near Austria and the Bavarian Alps. For such a paper powerhouse, Gmund is actually relatively small. It has been family owned and operated by the Kohler family since 1904, and their pride in fine paper craftsmanship shows throughout the wide range of colors and textures they offer. In fact, as other paper mills seem to be cutting back on colors, finishes, and lines of paper, Gmund sees this as an opportunity to expand its paper options. This is partly due to the decision to maintain and operate Europe's oldest paper machine, affectionately known as the "Old Lady". Along with the old lady, Gmund also has a second paper machine that they alternate with every two weeks.
Great for Invitations and Even Better for the Environment
Not only is Gmund paper great in quality, but great for the environment as well. Gmund is FSC or Forest Stewardship Council certified meaning that this council certifies that the paper mills are following strict procedures in managing their forests. The paper mill has become more and more environmentally friendly over the years, using alternative power sources like water, steam and sunlight.

Printing at home?
When you are ready to work with Gmund colors, please note that if printing at home, we have found that the text weight is both laser and inkjet friendly, but the heavy cover stock works best with a high-end ink jet. This paper also works well with conventional methods such as, thermography and stamping.
Similar to Gmund Colors, the Pop-Tone cardstock & paper line features a smooth vellum finish that is laser and ink jet friendly. It is also available in both heavy cover and text weights and in a wide variety of paper and envelope sizes. The Pop-Tone color palette is also diverse, though it is slightly lighter and less "primary" than the Gmund palette. Made here in the USA from French Paper Company, the Pop-Tone line carries with it brand name recognition and unprecedented standards of beauty, quality, and eco-conscious manufacturing. Since Pop-Tone is made here in the US it is priced a little lower than Gmund Colors.
