Font Can Make A Difference

The first step in creating customized place cards is to print or hand write your guests’ names and table numbers onto the cards. The fonts, colors, or calligraphy style you choose will have a large impact on the final appearance of your place cards. With the right style, an otherwise plain card can be transformed into a beautiful one, precisely customized for your event.

Even without embellishments, the fonts chosen for these classic place cards makes them lovely and elegant all on their own.

Use Self Adhesive Bows To Dress Your Place Cards

Self-adhesive bows are a quick and easy way to dress up place cards, add a splash of color, and incorporate theme. Choose from a large variety of perfectly tied satin bows or pre-tied chiffon bows. Try them centered, off-centered, or angled to find the look you prefer.

Or Satin and Chiffon Ribbon

Choose from over two dozen colors of satin and chiffon ribbon, and simply tie it around place cards for unique decorative flare. Ribbon can be firmly adhered to place cards using double sided tape or craft glue.

Here’s How We Did It

On the place card embellished with a brown chiffon ribbon band, approximately 9 1/4 inches of ribbon were used. After folding the card, the ribbon was simply wrapped around the front, and secured in the back with double sided tape. The white place card was embellished with approximately two feet of burgundy satin ribbon, tied into a large bow around the top of the card.

Incorporate Theme with Decorative Metal Brads

Metal brads are another great way to decorate and incorporate theme. Eight fun designs are available. Try a starfish brad for a beach themed wedding, or a silver snowflake for a winter affair.

Some Brads Have Posts, Some Do Not

Please note, some brads have posts, and some do not. To use brads with posts, first make a small hole in the place card for the post. A micro-round hand held craft punch works well for this. Then, simply line up the hole in the center of the brad with the hole in the place card, and push the brad through both holes. To secure the brad in place, turn the card over, open the butterfly ends of the brad post, and fold them down towards the card.

If a brad has no post, simply use a fast drying adhesive to glue it to the card.

Why Not Ribbons and Brads?

Used together, ribbons and brads can create a tasteful, decorative band around place cards.

Here’s How We Did It

To embellish this card, approximately 9 1/4 inches of satin ribbon were wrapped around the card and secured in the back with a small dab of glue. The daisy brad shown on this card is one with a post. Using a micro-round hole punch, a hole was made through the ribbon and the card, the brad placed over the ribbon, and the entire ensemble held firmly in place by folding the post’s ends towards the card.
