LCI Paper is pleased to announce it is now using oxo-biodegradable shrink film to package items. With a growing emphasis on offering eco-friendly products, it comes as no surprise that LCI has made the switch to a more eco-friendly package design.
In November, LCI founder and president Larry Chase decided to switch to biodegradable shrink wrap in yet another environmentally conscious effort.
Speaking on his motivation to make this change, Chase had the following to say:
. . .We are consistently making strides to minimize the impact our daily operations have on the environment, and this is just another one of those strides. Having a clean environment is important for so many reasons; health, conservation, future generations. If we do not take care of the earth today, we may be headed for all sorts of future disasters. This step is a small one, but if every business took this stance, it would go a long way.
The new biodegradable shrink wrap contains a simple additive that initiates chemical breakdown more rapidly and completely in the presence of oxygen, heat, and light. The wrap has no discernible difference in appearance or durability, ensuring packages will remain safe during shipping, and will look as great leaving LCI’s warehouse as they do upon arrival.
