Once Wed; Designer Weddings for Less, is a widely read blog full of inspiring ideas for the modern DIY bride. With daily additions to the Real Wedding and DIY Project galleries, those seeking a creative wedding resource will never be disappointed!

Glancing at the Once Wed Blog this morning, I stumbled upon an article about a very fun and unique DIY project that had me thinking, “When I get married, I want to do this!”

Pictured below, these DIY “will you be my bridesmaid” cards put a unique spin on a classic childhood art project; offering a formal, yet playful way in which to request and introduce your bridal party. These bridesmaid invites are not only a nice gesture, but also allude to the level of enchantment and attention to detail your wedding will offer. After opening this envelope, your bridesmaids will certainly know they will be a valued part of your wedding, and are also in for a good time!

DIY Bridesmaid CardsThe Once Wed article, linked to above, comes complete with detailed instructions on how to create these bridesmaid cards. Though it may take a few minutes to revert back to the second grade mode of making paper chain people, this project appears to be fairly straightforward. The materials required for assembly are simple as well; just scissors, glue, marker or printer, and craft paper and envelopes of the sizes and colors of your choice (Size A7 used in featured cards). Next to making your paper chain bridesmaids, perhaps the best part of this project is the ability to inject your own creativity and personality into what will be your bridal party’s first impression your special day!

If you like the idea of formally asking your bridesmaids to be involved in your wedding, try this project out and see what your imagination creates!
